Every gathering, get together, reception, cocktail hour, corporate dinner or team outing is filled with moments. And there’s all kinds of reasons why you may want to capture and save those moments on camera in order to reflect on them later.
I’ve got good news, you no longer have to rely on Linda from HR, or your cousin who went to film school in Boulder for three semesters to manage the camera.
There’s a new breed of photographer and videographer in town. Have you heard of a content creator? How about a Behind the Scenes service? Some people might call it a social producer or a digital concierge. If you haven’t heard of these folks, then listen up. It’s about time I peeled back the curtain on this new must have video and photo service.
What’s Going On?
Content creators are picking up major steam in the marketing world, have already established themselves as a must-have for weddings, and are quickly expanding their video and photo coverage skills to all sorts of events.
Chances are you’ve heard of content creators, right? But did you know they aren’t just goofs on the internet making viral videos of impossible trick shots or unbelievable thrift store finds?
Groups as diverse as engaged couples, small businesses, sports teams and even police departments that look like they’re doing it right, are likely hiring Behind The Scenes content creators to shoot these clips and pics for them. Don’t believe me? Here’s an actual job listing! It’s a really hot trend right now and something you won’t want to miss out on.
It’s great content, but it’s not the type of stuff a traditional photographer or videographer would capture. And it’s done well enough that it’s hard to imagine it’s just done in someone’s spare time, right? There’s this middle zone, right? And you may not have realized that’s where this sort of stuff is coming from.
If you’re celebrating with your family or your team, why not capture all the happy moments?
The New Way to Remember Your Celebration
Gather After has our very own Behind The Scenes specialist. I love educating people about this content creator role and how it can enhance the experience of your special event.
It’s important to state that our Behind The Scenes (BTS) service doesn’t replace a traditional photographer or videographer. I recommend booking a BTS camera person in addition to a traditional photographer or videographer professional.
While traditional photogs take pictures with a powerful large-bodied pro-level camera (or cameras) to deliver high quality and timeless images, BTS photogs use a smart phone to create media that can be delivered quickly and uploaded within hours, not weeks.
Essentially, it’s a batch of raw photos and videos people can get their hands on right away so they can speedily share pics and flics of their special get together or celebratory dinner. No more waiting for the traditional photos that have to be processed, edited, uploaded or printed. You can still get those of course, but now you can get some shareable goodies to share while the memories of the gathering are still fresh.
Imagine having my BTS videographer come to your party, act as your own personal documentarian and then hook you up with the social media gold? Your guests will love it and will be thankful you thought of something so fun.
What You’ll Get
Depending on which coverage option you choose, our social media expert will be with you for up to 6 hours on your event day. Their job will be to capture behind the scenes, raw and unedited pictures and video. You’ll get up to 100 pieces of content of your celebration. Use the audio-free clips and raw photos however you like.
Here’s a sample of the kinds of clips you can expect to receive.
Think of the Behind The Scenes Add-on like being able to hand off your phone to your bestie so that they can snap some pictures and take some videos for you. With a dedicated BTS shooter by your side you won’t have to ask, “Is anyone getting this on camera?”
Yes! We’re recording. We got you.
When You’ll Get It
I know you can’t wait to get your hands on this social media gold, so we’ll be sure to send it your way within 48 hours. You’ll get between 30 and 100 pieces of content, depending on the coverage option you choose. Then it’s up to you to put it to use and post it however and wherever you want.
What You Can Do With It
The short answer is anything you want. We’re just here to capture it for you so that you have the files to work with. Add some music, slap on some digital stickers, splice clips together, take screengrabs and piece posts together to your heart’s content.
Check out a reel one of our recent brides, Stephanie B., made with some of her BTS files.
This is how you can fill your feed with all the glorious posts you’ve seen on TikTok or Instagram. They can only look this cool if you’ve got a dedicated person to capture it in the first place.
Possible uses may include posting reels, creating TikToks, or reliving the event instantly while waiting for your professional photos. You could even use this stuff to send thank you notes or “see you again next year” type reminders to people that attended your event.
Make Your Media Plan Complete
Now that you know what it’s all about, I hope you’ll be as excited to book a Behind The Scenes content creator as I am to offer it. Give me a call, let’s get the party going!
